Location: New Bond Street, London
Size: 2,690 sq.ft.

The Mission:

To create an all-day ‘meet, network and play’ restaurant concept for the main fashion floor able to promote Fenwick’s status as one of London’s most longstanding ‘boutique’ retail destinations and reintroduce the brand to a legion of fashion media professionals based in Mayfair.

Our Response:

In partnership with hospitality consultancy A Private View, founded by Evening Standard restaurant critic Fay Maschler and journalist & broadcaster Simon Davis, we devised a second-floor all-day (breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails and canapés) restaurant concept overlooking London’s prestigious Brook Street. Conceived as a space to meet, network and relax the design included a daytime restaurant, informal café and a huge central sculptural cocktail bar.

Every design component was bespoke; most prominently a curtain of semi-reflective, floor to ceiling, asymmetric glass ‘fins’ encircling the two store-facing sides of the restaurant, allowing the restaurant to be concealed, revealed or mixed with the surrounding fashion floor, highlighting newly acquired brands. Other notable features included a full fashion library (books and magazines) and a ‘champagne burst’ chandelier rising above the pewter wrapped cocktail bar.
